Take back control of your co-parenting communication.
BestInterest filters conflict, coaches your tone, and helps you rebuild calm — one message at a time.
If your coparent didn’t receive a message you sent through the BestInterest app, don’t worry — there are a few common reasons this can happen, and most are easy to fix. Below are the most likely causes and steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Messages can only be delivered if your coparent’s phone number is entered correctly.
Go to More › Coparent Profile in your app and confirm that the phone number matches your coparent’s actual phone number. Even a small typo or missing digit can prevent delivery.
Each user in BestInterest has their own assigned number. Your coparent should be sending and receiving messages from that number — not your personal phone number.
You can find your assigned number by going to More › Coparent Connection in the app. If your coparent is messaging a different number, their messages won’t reach you.
BestInterest routes all messages through a secure AI moderation system that filters and reviews communication before delivery.
Messages usually send within seconds, but during busy periods or poor network conditions, it can take a few minutes. Wait about 5 minutes before assuming the message didn’t go through.
Occasionally, delays are caused by your or your coparent’s mobile carrier.
If either of you has poor signal, airplane mode enabled, or a temporary carrier issue, messages may not send or receive properly. Make sure both phones have service and are able to send/receive regular SMS messages.
If you or your coparent are using the BestInterest app, make sure you’re both on the latest version. Updates often include important reliability fixes for messaging.
To update, visit your device’s App Store or Google Play Store and check for updates to BestInterest.
If your message contains emotionally charged or non-child-related language, Message Shield™ may hold or re-route it for review.
You’ll always see when a message was received or reviewed — but it may not be shown to your coparent if it violates moderation settings. Keeping your messages short, neutral, and child-focused ensures smooth delivery.
If messages still aren’t going through, try restarting your phone.
This refreshes your network connection and can fix small software or signal glitches that might interfere with message delivery.
