How do I enable geotagging for my Journal entries?

One powerful feature of the Journal in the BestInterest app is the ability to geotag entries with your location. This can be especially helpful during parenting exchanges or time-sensitive events.

For example, if you’re dropping off your child and want to document that you arrived on time, you can create a Journal entry with your exact location attached. This entry can be printed or exported later as part of your personal record—no texting, no arguments, just clear documentation.

To enable this feature, you’ll need to grant the BestInterest app permission to access your location. These are the steps to enable the location, but please note that the steps may be slightly different depending on the operating system version installed on your device:

On Android:

  1. Open your device’s Settings.
  2. Tap Apps (or Apps & Notifications), then find and select BestInterest.
  3. Tap Permissions.
  4. Tap Location and choose either:
    • Allow only while using the app (recommended)
    • Allow all the time (for background tracking, if needed)
  5. Make sure Location Services are turned on (Settings > Location).

On iOS:

  1. Open your Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap BestInterest.
  3. Tap Location.
  4. Select either:
    • While Using the App (recommended)
    • Always (for background tracking, if needed)
  5. Ensure Location Services are enabled (Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services).

🔒 Your Privacy Matters
Geotagging is entirely optional. Your location data is stored securely and never shared with your co-parent or anyone else. It’s simply a tool to help you keep accurate, timestamped records—on your terms.
