How do I give photo permission for messages?

One powerful feature of the BestInterest app is the ability to send photos directly to your co-parent—whether it’s a sweet moment with your child, a school document, or a medical update.

For this to work, the app needs permission to access your photo library. Granting this access allows you to quickly and easily attach images to your messages, keeping your co-parenting communication clear, visual, and organized.

To enable photo access, follow the steps below. These may vary slightly depending on your device and operating system version:

On Android:

  1. Open your device’s Settings.
  2. Tap Apps (or Apps & Notifications), then find and select BestInterest.
  3. Tap Permissions.
  4. Tap Photos and Videos (or Storage) and choose:
    • Allow access to media only

On iOS:

  1. Open your Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap BestInterest.
  3. Tap Photos.
  4. Select either:
    • Selected Photos (to choose only specific ones; can be a little cumbersome if you regularly send photos)
    • All Photos (recommended for full access and easier use)

🔒 Your Privacy Matters
Photo access is used only so you can choose which images to send. The BestInterest app never accesses, sends, processes, or stores photos unless you choose to share them. You’re always in control.

Sharing photos can be a meaningful part of your co-parenting communication. Whether it’s a child’s artwork or proof of a completed exchange, giving the app photo access makes it easy to keep your communication visual, child-focused, and respectful.
