What Is the Tasks & Todos Screen?

The Tasks & Todos screen is a shared task list built specifically for co-parents. You can create tasks, assign them to yourself or your co-parent, set due dates, and check them off as you go.

It works whether you’re in Solo mode or with your coparent in Together Mode:

• In Solo mode, tasks are private—only you can see and manage them.
• If you’re connected with a co-parent, tasks can be assigned to either of you (or left unassigned), giving both of you visibility and accountability.

Only if you’re connected as co-parents in the app. If you’re in Solo mode, your tasks are private and visible only to you.

Can I assign a task to my co-parent without them getting a notification?

At the moment, assigning a task does not trigger a push notification—but your co-parent will see it the next time they check the Tasks & Todos screen.

What happens if a task is unassigned?

Unassigned tasks are visible to both co-parents (if connected) and can be picked up by either person. This can be useful for shared responsibilities or flexible items.

Can I set recurring tasks?

Not yet. Currently, each task is a one-time item, but you can re-create frequent tasks manually. Recurring task support is something we’re exploring, so let us know if you’d like to see it and how you’d use it.

Do tasks appear in the calendar or journal?

Not directly. Tasks live in their own section, but you can manually copy calendar-sensitive tasks into your co-parenting calendar. We may integrate deeper linking in the future.

What if my co-parent doesn’t use the app?

You can still use Tasks & Todos in Solo mode to stay organized. Many BestInterest users start this way—it’s a great tool for personal accountability and documentation, even without coparent involvement.
