What happens when my ex sends me a nasty text? Do I still have to read it?

You do not have to read harmful or emotionally charged wording to find the child-focused information in a message.

Message Shield, included with Protect and Protect Plus, filters hostile or off-topic content and shows you the parts relevant to your children. Turn on Mediator Voice under Settings > Message Shield to have incoming messages restated in a calm, third-person voice.

Leave the original hidden

When a message has been filtered, open it and the child-focused body is labelled Filtered Message. The exact wording remains under Original Message, hidden behind Tap to view original message by default.

You can reveal it later, or leave it unread. The original remains stored for your records either way.

Ask a professional for help without reading it

Open the message and tap Send to Team. Choose a therapist, coach, attorney, or another person on your Professionals Team, and BestInterest forwards the original wording to that person. You do not need to reveal it first.

If your team is empty, the app offers to take you to Settings > Professionals Team to add someone.
