For courts and court-connected professionals
BestInterest resources for courts and judicial officers
Evaluate a co-parenting platform built to reduce exposure to harmful communication, keep supported family records organized, and remain useful when only one parent participates. These resources are intended for judges, judicial officers, law clerks, family court staff, and court-connected professionals.
Court-relevant capabilities
A calmer communication layer and a clearer record
BestInterest combines secure messaging, shared scheduling, expenses, tasks, journaling, calling, and exportable records in one platform.
Proactive communication protection
Message Shield can review eligible incoming messages before they are presented to the recipient, without relying on the sender to accept coaching.
Structured records for review
Supported messages, calls, schedules, tasks, expenses, and documents can remain in one platform and be exported for professional review.
Useful with one or both parents
Collaborative Mode supports two-parent use, while Solo Mode and Boundary Line provide options when the other parent does not join.
Conflict reduction
AI and coparenting: how it can help reduce conflict
AI can help at three stages: drafting a calmer message, guiding the sender before the message goes out, and protecting the recipient from harmful language.
Writing Assistants
Writing assistants can help a parent draft or revise a message in a calmer, kinder, and more child-focused way. OurFamilyWizard’s ToneMeter and Writing Assistant, TalkingParents’ Sentiment Scanner and Writing Assist, AppClose’s Co-Parent Assist, and BestInterest’s Coparent Coach all offer this kind of support. These tools can flag tone or suggest alternatives; the parent decides whether to change what is sent.
Pre-Send Guidance
Tone Guardian makes review part of the sending flow. When enabled, it reviews newly written drafts after the parent taps send and before delivery, then gives the parent an opportunity to accept a calmer rewrite, edit it, or send the original. This is a different intervention from tools that flag tone during drafting or wait for the parent to request a scan or rewrite.
BestInterest Exclusive
Active recipient protection
Message Shield takes conflict reduction a step further by reviewing eligible incoming messages before they are presented to the recipient. Harmful language can be held back or neutrally restated while the original remains available, reducing exposure to triggering language. This protection does not depend on the sender choosing to use or follow a writing assistant.
Together, Tone Guardian and Message Shield bring AI into both sides of the exchange: helping prevent escalation before a message is sent and reducing the emotional impact of harmful language when it arrives.
Evaluation guidance
What court professionals should know
Records are organized; admissibility remains a legal determination
BestInterest retains supported in-app records with timestamps and offers CSV exports and structured PDF Verified Reports. Depending on the report and plan, a Certificate of Authenticity may be available. A platform export does not independently prove the truth of user-authored content. Authentication, relevance, admissibility, and evidentiary weight depend on the record, foundation, facts, and jurisdiction.
AI supports communication; it does not enforce an order
AI can miss context or classify language incorrectly. BestInterest does not monitor a case for the court, make findings, or automatically determine whether a message or action violates a parenting plan or court order. The user remains responsible for what they send and how they respond.
One-parent and two-parent configurations are available
In Collaborative Mode, both parents use BestInterest for shared communication and coordination. Solo Mode supports private organization, documentation, and coaching without the other parent joining. With Boundary Line, a non-user can continue communicating by text or phone through a dedicated number.
Safety planning and emergency communication remain separate
BestInterest is not an emergency service, threat-assessment system, legal service, or substitute for a safety plan. Courts and families should maintain an appropriate emergency channel and follow applicable protection orders and local procedures.
Affordability support

Competitor pricing and feature details were reviewed against each provider’s official U.S. materials on July 16, 2026. “Lowest per-family cost” shows the least-expensive published recurring option and includes two parent accounts where both parents must subscribe; it excludes taxes, transaction fees, optional add-ons, discounts, and fee waivers. Feature availability varies by plan. “Records for professional review” does not mean that every record is admissible in every matter.
Practical evaluation
Questions to consider for any platform
- Whether one or both parents are expected to use the platform.
- Which communication channels, scheduling tools, or record types are relevant to the matter.
- How subscription costs, fee waivers, devices, connectivity, language, and accessibility may affect participation.
- How original records will be preserved and how a party may produce them for professional or court review.
- Which separate channel should be used for emergencies or circumstances in which an app is unavailable.
