Help Guide

Why did signing in create a new or empty account?

If signing in opens a new BestInterest setup or an account with no messages, family, or subscription, the sign-in method may not match the one used for your original account.

Apple, Google, phone-number, and email-and-password sign-in each verify identity differently. Even when two methods display the same email address, they can create separate account identities. Sign in with Apple may also use an Apple private relay address when Hide My Email was selected.

If You See “Use Your Existing Account?”

  1. Select Log in to existing.
  2. BestInterest removes the freshly created empty account and signs you out.
  3. Read the message naming the original method: Apple, Google, phone number, or email and password.
  4. Return to the login screen and use that exact method.

Choose Continue new account only if you intentionally want a separate account.

If You Already Continued into the Empty Account

  1. Do not reconnect your coparent, recreate family information, or purchase another subscription.
  2. Sign out of the empty account.
  3. Try the original Continue with Apple, Continue with Google, Continue with Phone Number, or email-and-password option.
  4. For Apple or Google, confirm that the device is using the same Apple ID or Google account as before.

BestInterest does not automatically merge two separate accounts. Avoid deleting either account until the original account and its records have been identified.

Still Opening the Wrong Account?

Contact support and include:

  • The email address and phone number expected on the original account
  • Every sign-in button you tried
  • Whether you saw Use your existing account?
  • Whether you selected Log in to existing or Continue new account
  • Your device type and BestInterest app version

Never send your password, Apple password, Google password, or verification code.
