Shared Calendar FAQ
Is the shared custody calendar included on the Free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes the core calendar, parenting schedule templates, events, exchange locations, and scheduled overnight calculations. Connect and higher plans add co-parent schedule-change requests and approvals.
Does my co-parent need BestInterest to use the calendar?
No. In Collaborative Mode, both parents can use the shared family calendar. In Solo Mode, you can maintain a private schedule even if your co-parent does not join.
What custody schedules does it support?
You can start with common schedules such as alternating weeks, 2-2-5-5, 2-2-3, 3-4-4-3, extended weekends, or alternating weekends. You can also create a custom parenting schedule. Review the result against your current parenting plan.
Can I view the BestInterest calendar in Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?
Yes. You can create a subscription link for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or another iCal app. Choose a full calendar with events, tasks, and the custody schedule, or share the custody schedule by itself. You can disable existing links at any time.
Does overnight tracking show what actually happened?
No. BestInterest calculates overnights from the schedule entered in the app. That is useful for planning, but it does not independently verify where a child stayed on a particular night.
Can calendar records be used for professional or legal review?
An organized schedule and change history can provide useful context for an attorney, mediator, or other professional. They are not a guarantee of accuracy, admissibility, or a particular legal outcome.
